A program commemorating long-time League of Women Voters member Ann Berry will be held Sunday June 18, 3 p.m., at the arboretum in Roseville Central Park. A newly-installed walkway brick will be dedicated in her honor. Speakers will be: Ramsey County Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire, League president Rita Mills and Georgeann Hall.
The League of Women Voters of Roseville Area is hosting a meeting featuring proposed ten-year affordable housing objectives for the cities of Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Maplewood and Roseville on Tuesday, May 9. During the past year, the League’s affordable housing study committee has included three graduate students working on a Capstone Project in the University of Minnesota’s Center for Regional and Urban Affairs.
The Roseville Area League of Women Voters has scheduled a tour of the Eagles Point Wastewater Treatment Plant in Cottage Grove on May 16 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We will carpool from the parking lot just north of the Roseville Ice Arena, leaving there at 9:15 am.
The plant has primary and advanced secondary treatment before the water is discharged to the Mississippi River. It has won several awards for progressive steps in wastewater treatment and sustainability. It is one of eight plants operated by Metropolitan Council Environmental Services. (MCES).
LWV Roseville Area will release its study of affordable housing and its availability in Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Maplewood and Roseville at the April 18 meeting. The League has a long history of advocating for equal opportunity and economic justice for all, including affordable housing. The League committee that has been studying this issue for the past year will present their findings and recommendations.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Autumn Grove Roseville Park building, 1365 Lydia Ave. W. The event is free and open to the public. There will also be a recorded viewing of the program at 9:30 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 3115 Victoria St. N., Roseville.
The Annual Meeting of the Roseville Area League of Women Voters is set for May 2 at Little Canada City Hall, 515 Little Canada Road East. A social hour will begin at 5 p.m., and dinner at 6 p.m. If you are unable to come to dinner, please come to the meeting that begins at 7:00.

The League of Women Voters of Roseville Area will host a presentation and discussion on community mental health on Tuesday March 21st from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Autumn Grove Park Building, 1365 Lydia Avenue West, Roseville.
Molli Slade, an experienced community-based licensed mental health social worker, will speak about community mental health. The discussion will focus on how to effectively engage and support people diagnosed with or showing symptoms of mental health issues, including suicidal ideation, depression and psychosis. It will include how we can start and maintain difficult conversations, what resources are available, and what resources are still needed.
From the workplace to the home to the health care system to the judicial realm, the struggle for women's equality continues. Please join us as we partner with the Roseville Library and the group Do Good Roseville for a viewing and discussion of the film "Equal Means Equal."
