The Council of Metropolitan Area League of Women Voters (CMAL) presents:  Emergency Management in the Metropolitan Area - Focus on Public Health:  Immunization/Zika/Ebola/Influenza.

Hear from public health officials how state and local government work to keep metro area residents safe.  Janice Maine (MN Dept. of Health) and Giana Adasiewicz (Dakota County Public Health Dept.) will speak and take questions.

Find out how the League of Women Voters of the Roseville Area can empower you in today’s changing times.   Want to help immigrants become citizens and register to vote?  Want to be involved in probing local studies?  Are you concerned about the environment?  Do you want to advocate for social and economic justice?   Join local legislators and League leaders to find your path to involvement. 

Wednesday, March 29^th, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Roseville Library.   This event is free and open to the public.

The League of Women Voters of Roseville Area will host a presentation and discussion on community mental health on Tuesday March 21st from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Autumn Grove Park Building, 1365 Lydia Avenue West, Roseville.

Molli Slade, an experienced community-based licensed mental health social worker, will speak about community mental health. The discussion will focus on how to effectively engage and support people diagnosed with or showing symptoms of mental health issues, including suicidal ideation, depression and psychosis. It will include how we can start and maintain difficult conversations, what resources are available, and what resources are still needed.

On January 21, 2017 millions of women and men around the world, including close to 100,000 in Minnesota, joined together to make their voices heard.  Many now are asking “What’s Next?  What can we do so we don’t lose our momentum?”

Here are some suggestions from the League of Women Voters U.S.

• Join the League of Women Voters.  League is a group of engaged and caring individuals trying to make a difference in their communities.
• Register to vote, and encourage your friends to do so
• Make a donation to League
• Call/write your congressional and legislative representatives to make them aware of your views.

From the workplace to the home to the health care system to the judicial realm, the struggle for women's equality continues. Please join us as we partner with the Roseville Library and the group Do Good Roseville for a viewing and discussion of the film "Equal Means Equal."  Thursday, March 9, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.at the Roseville Library Community Room.  

The League is proud to partner with the Women's March on Washington - Saturday January 21. As women and defenders of our democracy, there is more that unites us than divides us. We march for voting rights. We march to reform money in politics. We march for health care. We march for the environment.  Here is a link to the Women's March on Washington.

If you are unable to march in Washington, D.C., you can participate in the Women's March Minnesota, which culminates with a rally at noon at the State Capitol.
