Register Riders to Vote - Volunteers Needed September 22

Join a metro area coalition for Registering Riders to Vote (RRTV)- September 22!  Our area League has been working with organizers from over a dozen groups in the Twin Cities to put together RRTV. It is a large-scale, non-partisan, voter registration drive, that will take place at 25 Metro Transit stops across the Twin Cities.  These sites represent a targeted effort to reach areas represented with lower percentage of registered voters, and also reach populations served by our coalition members. We’ve worked closely with Metro Transit to ensure their safety standards for riders will be upheld, as well as worked closely with the Secretary of State (S.O.S) office to maximize the impact.

Metro Transit has provided $18,000 worth of free advertising on their busses and platforms for general get out the vote advertising in conjunction with RRTV.  The S.O.S. has designed these signs, and we’ve secured funding for their printing from LWVRA members and ACLU.

This event takes place the afternoon of Saturdy, September 22 with options of 2, 2-hr shifts.  Time: First shift, 12:45-2:45pm; Second shift: 2:15-4:15pm.  These are Metro Transits peak ridership hours on the weekends.

Volunteer Sign-up for RRTV- please follow the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScJMRe53lUQpA7jRalV7_8Zueox0te0_2JaYRsnuhV0jrzQjQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

Volunteers will be provided voter registration forms and stickers for the event, and we are asking them to bring their own clipboards and pens. Volunteers do not need to be League members, but all must have had training either previous or with those provided below. Invite a friend and have a buddy at the bus stop (and share the mission of our League)!

Voter Registration Trainings - (All volunteers must have voter registration training, either prior to these two trainings, or by attending one of them, in order to participate).

We are hoping to have a webinar training available as well after this presentation. Please assist in registering new voters and getting out the message… Your VOTE counts!
