League Helps Keep Roseville Human Rights Commission

At their April 24, 2017 meeting, the Roseville City Council considered consolidating the Human Rights Commission with the short-lived Community Engagement Commission and eliminating all but one mention of human rights, including from the title. The League, which has long-held, strong positions in support of human rights, opposed this change.

League member Mindy Greiling testified, on behalf of our League, in strong opposition to the proposal (see link to her testimony here). All community members in attendance also opposed the change.

The Council amended “Human Rights” back into the name and reinserted “human rights” into the charge. Another successful advocacy effort for the League!
