Governor Walz has issued a Writ of Special Election to fill a vacancy in House District 40B using the schedule below. House District 40B represents parts of Roseville and Shoreview in Ramsey County. For more information on House District 40B Special Election go the Secretary of States website.

Election Dates

• Special Primary: February 25, 2025
• Special Election: March 11, 2025

On January 17, the Supreme Court cancelled the special election in House District 40B that had been scheduled for January 28. Updated information on the special election will be posted by the Secretary of State as soon as a writ of special election is issued by the governor. 

House District 40B represents parts of Roseville and Shoreview in Ramsey County.
